Diversity Thrift (Richmond, VA)

"One of the best thrifts in RVA and funds go back to the local LGBTQ community versus a corporation. They have rooms and rooms full of clothing and have bought furniture their as well. My kids love thrifting since they know they can get so much more — from clothes to decor to whatever they find. And being in the city there are often more quirky items donated which makes it even more fun. Love this store. We donate and shop seasonally." –Naomi H.

Lost-N-Found Youth (Atlanta, GA)

"A great thrift store for a great cause! Lost and Found Youth does wonderful work across Atlanta to locate and make safe many young people who find themselves on the streets of the city, at risk and alone, often after being cast out by their families when they come out as LGBTQ+. LNFY helps by raising money and providing resources to give these young people shelter, food, clothing and help to get safe and on their feet. The thrift store is eclectic, and a fun way to browse away a couple of hours. Well worth your money and volunteer hours." –Emma H.

South Press (Knoxville, TN)

"We had our pick of tables or comfy couches to sit at and there is a ton of decor to take in. Fierce, glammed up barbies on the ceiling, coffee and Knox wall art, We Believe signage, and other unique trinkets that make this place seem like my wild Nana's living room. There is a searchable "rainbow library" with LGBTQ+ friendly literature to choose from and other LGBTQ+ resources available/advertised throughout the shop. There is also a stage area where they periodically offer live music. Many people were there working and enjoying the Wi-Fi. We brought a board game and enjoyed the quiet music playing over the speakers." –Lindsay H.

Top Drawer (Austin, TX)

"I’ve lived in Austin for years and I’ve often passed by Top Drawer Thrift. You know, The one with the giant cartoon looking dresser drawers on top! There are so many thrift shops up and down Burnet are usually stick to the main familiar ones. But I finally decided to go check out top drawer. Let me just say, why did I wait so long to come here? What a great thrift for vintage home decor finds. The price point is extremely reasonable, compared to some of the super taxed thrift stores in Austin. They have records to look through vintage flatware, electronics, all the accessories you can imagine! They even have vintage camera gear which I loved. But the best part of my shopping experience was learning that all proceeds from this thrift go to benefit a charity that provides hospice resources for people with AIDS/HIV." –Britt Z.

Wunderbar (Syracuse, NY)

"Wunderbar is without a doubt my favorite spot in Syracuse. Everything about it is wonderful. Of course, the first thing you notice is how stunning it is. The aesthetic is so beautiful and intentional. It feels classy and chic, yet casual and homey. Next, the drinks are excellent–thoughtful and well-crafted. The programming is unreal. There is constantly something new and fun going on, nearly every night of the week. Of course, in the end, it is the people that make the place, and that is where Wunderbar truly shines. The staff pour their heart into this space, and it shows. They make every trip a pleasure. In a city where I haven't really felt at home, Wunderbar has been the difference. It is where I feel safe. It is where I feel free. It is where I feel me. Please, go." –Josh R.
