Liverpool transfer round

Nov 30, 2023

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has already suggested that Liverpool will not be making any more signings in the January transfer window but that has not stopped a number of players being linked with a move to Anfield

The January transfer window is now over halfway finished and Liverpool appear to have finalised their business.

The Reds welcomed Dutch forward Cody Gakpo to Anfield before the window even opened - the PSV man putting pen to paper on a £37m move to the club. A midfielder was also on Liverpool's shopping list having seen their options dwindle but boss Jurgen Klopp has suggested that their business could be done with a number of intriguing comments.

Despite that, a number of players are still being linked with making a move over the final fortnight of the market. Here are the latest rumours coming out of Anfield over the past 24 hours:

Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah is reportedly set to be at the forefront of any Qatari offer to buy Liverpool. The Reds have been up for sale since current owners FSG announced their intentions to sell.

As per Egyptian outlet Elbalad, current PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi is set to make a joint offer for the Reds and wants to make Salah the poster boy for any takeover. The pair apparently shared lunch following the Reds' defeat to Brentford.

It is suggested that Al-Khelaifi already attempted to sign the forward for PSG but he will now be 'one of the pillars of the Qatar project with Liverpool'.

Wolves are reportedly set to block Liverpool's attempts to sign Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves with the Reds having apparently renewed their interest. Liverpool have been linked with a swoop for the former Porto star in January but his current club appear not to be keen on selling.

As per O Jogo, Wolves are refusing to engage in negotiations regarding a transfer which could force the Reds to look elsewhere for cheaper alternatives. Spanish giants Barcelona are also noted as admirers in Neves.

His contract is set to expire in the summer of 2024 which could make a move away from Molineux slightly more feasible.

Liverpool are reportedly interested in a move for Eintracht Frankfurt starlet Jesper Lindstrom. According to Tipsbladet, the Reds have already made contact with the German club regarding a potential deal.

The 22-year-old has shone in the Bundesliga this season with six goals in 14 appearances and a further two assists. A deal is not expected to be easy though with the nine-time Danish international having three-and-a-half years left on his current contract in Germany.

The youngster originally joined the club from Brondby in 2021 and has gone on to become one of the most exciting young players in the Bundesliga. He also helped Frankfurt to the Europa League title against Rangers last term.
