I’m a Poundland influencer
BRITAIN’S cost of living crisis has shot up the price of our weekly shops - but there's one store still dishing out bargains, if you know how to find them.
YouTuber and mum-of-one Helen Grace from Somerset is a Poundland influencer on a mission to help us shop smarter and save money at the popular high street store.
The savvy mum, who shares her baby care hacks and budget shopping hauls on her channel, has revealed what's hot at Poundland this spring and the purse-pinching hack to make sure you never pay over the odds.
"My Poundland hauls can cost up to £50 a time, but you won't believe how much stuff I get for the money," she reveals. "From children's toys to make-up, bubble bath, pot scrubbers and even household paint, you can find literally anything in their aisles."
Shopping at Poundland will save you a fortune, but you have to know all the tricks to bag the bargains.
"People assume everything is a steal but you have to be careful about what you buy," she warns. "My top hack is to download the Trolley app and type in your shopping list.
"The app will tell you which products are cheaper in Poundland compared to your local supermarkets.
"Branded items are often cheaper at Poundland and I’m not just talking about Pot Noodles and digestive biscuits - Impulse, Dove and Lynx products line the toiletry shelves and they’re at least a pound cheaper."
Hardcore Poundland addicts sign up to the newsletter for special offers and a sneak peek at upcoming items. But for the biggest bargains, keep your eyes peeled for a reduced shelf where end-of-line or last-season stock is up for grabs at over 50% off - practically pennies.
"You’re most likely to spot a reduced section after big events like Halloween and Christmas," claims Helen. "Go wild on spooky or snowy decor for less than 50p - there's nothing wrong with being prepared.
"Watch out for the perfume dupes too - right now they’re selling a £4 fragrance called Insignia that's a total dupe of Poison by Dior."
When Helen steps into her favourite store in Keynsham, Somerset, she makes a beeline for the seasonal aisle to snap up trendy items from Easter eggs to gardening gear and cute holiday-themed gifts like mugs and decor for less than a fiver.

She's a huge fan of the DIY aisle and has flexed her building skills by making her own household decor and fab toys for her son with basic Poundland finds.
"You might think it's weird, but I’ve saved hundreds using cheap items to spruce up my home," she reveals. "I once turned a mirror into a dressing table tray and made a pencil case out of a cutlery organiser.
"I’ve even made toys from kitchen items. My son's been playing in a sand pit I crafted from a turkey-basting tray.
"People say it's such a great idea, no one would ever know I’d spent a quid in Poundland."
Helen can't help but clear the shelves of kids’ craft supplies like crayons and colouring books and confesses to picking up a new mug every time she visits a store.
"This season I’ll be stocking up on their spring bumblebee range from floral cups to cosy cushions," she claims.
Before we scuttle off to do our own Poundland shop, Helen has a warning: "People assume everything is cheap because of its name, but Poundland can put a higher price tag on some items.
"Keep tabs on sizing too - a bag of sweets might be cheaper than the supermarket, but it might be a lot smaller. They’re cheeky so don't be deceived and check before you buy."
