Avenged Sevenfold hosted an art exhibit in celebration of their new album Life Is But A Dream at Beyond The Streets in the Control Gallery of Los Angeles, California. On Friday, May 26 and Saturday, May 27 fans were able to see first hand 20 original paintings by Wes Lang.

In honor of their first record in seven years, progressive metal band Avenged Sevenfold surprised fans with an art exhibit promoting their collaboration with artist Wes Lang. Lang created the band's album art work for Life Is But A Dream including the art for the various different vinyl for the record. The art celebrates the underlining themes of the band's eighth studio album focusing on the celebration of life but also the acceptance of death. The album will release with artwork and collectibles including limited edition vinyl.

The exhibit consisted of 20 different paintings with tan canvases and black paint framed across the four walls of the Control Gallery and two giant death bats in the centered walls with the words "Life Is But A Dream" on one side and "We Love You" on the other side. One painting shows several reapers riding on horses with the words "Become Nothing," another shows three skeletons next to a beautiful flower arrangement with the words "The Whole Universe Surrenders." The second room held a wall sized photograph by Brian Catelle showcasing the mostly shirtless band wearing angel costumes and serious stern faces. Another wall held all 16 different colored vinyl of the album. The principle wall showcased a GQ article by Tyler Watamanuk interviewing M. Shadows and Wes Lang. Fans that attended the event were able to take home postcards with the same Wes Lang paintings for Avenged Sevenfold's album art work.

Following their weekend performance at Sonic Temple, Avenged Sevenfold's M. Shadows and Synyster Gates joined Wes Lang and Roger Gastman for an intimate discussion regarding the project, the art and more. The interview was held on Saturday, May 27 followed by a private gathering with lots of special guests awaiting to see the exhibit and celebrate the album with the band.

Fans that were not able to witness the art exhibit firsthand can experience a virtual 3D tour of the gallery here. See images of Avenged Sevenfold's and Wes Lang's Life Is But A Dream art exhibit below.
